Alexandra (Alex) Adams, MD, PhD, is a physician–researcher who has partnered with multiple Native American communities for more than 25 years to support family and community wellness. She directs the Center for American Indian and Rural Health Excellence at Montana State University, where she helps build community-partnered research and mentors the next generation of scientists. Her work weaves together scientific inquiry, Indigenous knowledge, and community storytelling. Over the past decade, she has participated in eleven land-based Indigenous knowledge exchanges with Māori and Native American communities in the U.S. and New Zealand. Alex also uses storytelling and film to share community voices and inspire healthier futures.
